"Anxiety in Children in Foster Care: Where Does it Come From?"

Presented by: Roxanne Thompson, MA

You are invited to attend CSFPA's first workshop of the new year! This year we're going to offer multiple educational opportunities called "JIT" (just in time) workshops. Our goal in the new year is to provide foster parents with more educational opportunities, scheduled throughout the year, different days, different times, with timely topics!

On Friday, February 19th, we'll be presenting "Anxiety in Children in Foster Care" presented by Roxanne Thompson.

Anxiety comes from many different experiences and situations. Understanding the reasons for anxiety is key for parenting a child who avoids certain situations/experiences, carries what seems to be unreasonable fear, and demonstrates behavior that is driven by their past. In this two hour workshop, designed specifically to help foster parents, we will work to have a better understanding of the child who is experiencing anxiety and how to help the child regulate their emotions.

Please note: We are limiting this workshop to foster/kinship parents. If you are a caseworker, you will be moved to wait list and if there is space we will add you to the registration.

This workshop is a "virtual" online workshop using Zoom. You will earn 2 hours of educational credit.  Participants must have cameras on. No call in participation for this workshop.

Certificates delivered post workshop via email.

Location: Your device with camera and microphone capability including lap tops, computers, I-pads, mobile phones. No "call in" telephone attendance.  For best results, we recommend lap tops. To receive credit hours, participants must have camera on with face visible.

Registration: Each person in attendance must actually register. You may add a guest registration to your own registration.

Cost:  Free of Charge

Registration is limited and once full we will move to wait list.

Registration Deadline is Noon, Thursday, February 18, 2021
