Presented by Erin Cassidy, MA

Join us for our RESCHEDULED December First Friday workshop as we continue our learning and discussion regarding culture, race and ethnicity. This workshop is the fourth in the Cultural Competency series and you don't want to miss it! If you did not attend the first three sessions, that's fine - you may still join us!
In this workshop we will cover:
- How racial trauma in history, media, communities, healthcare and families uniquely affects young people of color
- We will discuss the genres of racial trauma that exist, and what we can do as members of communities to combat this trauma and collectively help heal our youth with this very specific type of trauma
- This session asks participants to consider how they may be complicit in this trauma and how we can actively combat structural racism in child welfare
Due to the popularity of our previous workshop, we are limiting this workshop to resource parents first: foster, kinship, adoptive parents. If you are a caseworker, you will be moved to wait list and if there is space we will add you to the registration.
Erin Cassidy is a trainer, presenter and author with a Master’s in Ethnic Studies from Colorado State University, a Bachelor’s in Africana (Black Diaspora) Studies from the University of Northern Colorado and holds a Graduate Professional Certificate in Women and Gender Studies from Colorado State University.
This workshop is 2 hours.
